Wappingers’ Technology Integration Specialists Andrew Nikola and Daniel Roberto have been admirers of Mote’s voice recording features since discovering the product during the pandemic. “Mote always felt like a well-designed Edtech tool that tackled teachers’ challenges in a unique way” says Andrew. The team recommended Mote to teachers across the district, but there was not enough adoption to warrant a district-wide subscription.
At NYSCATE conference in November 2024, the Wappingers team saw how the Mote Chrome Extension’s new assistive features including Read Aloud and translation could help their district’s Special Education and growing ELL student populations. When Mote began a pilot for the live translation product ‘Mote Translator’ in 2025, Wappingers started a pilot and gathered positive feedback from teachers and students using both products. A district-wide subscription soon followed. "Our EL and SPED populations needed better support in Gen Ed classrooms," says Wappingers' Daniel Roberto. "And Mote has proven to be a great upgrade."
Wappingers remains an important innovation partner for Mote, with early pilot access to Mote product launches including Mote’s new iPad app.
