Text Prediction offers real-time word suggestions as students type, drawing on phonetic spelling and semantic and contextual awareness, so suggestions stay relevant even when spelling is only approximate. It works in English, French and Spanish, and students can load a topic list from their vocabulary lists to give predictions subject-specific context.
Students choose how suggestions appear, and how many to show:
- Follow: suggestions appear next to the cursor and travel with it as you write.
- Fixed: suggestions sit in a toolbar along the bottom of the screen.
- Tap: nothing appears while typing. The student taps the icon below their cursor when they want a suggestion.
Tap mode exists for students who find a list travelling across the page distracting: support is available without being present.
